"Andy’s bread is not only delicious, but healthy! It has a crispy crust, dense and airy center. Doesn’t leave a heavy feeling in your stomach like some other breads. The variety of whole grains and premium raw ingredients used in the handmade artisanal boules really shine through in a bold, but balanced way. We had the rye sourdough with honey, caraway, fennel and coriander, and could not have been more impressed. With the double bags and putting in a air tight container, our bread still tasted great 10 days later before we were able to finish! I have spent my entire career in the food and beverage industry, and this is a hidden gem in Indy you need to try."

"I was born and raised in Indianapolis but have lived in New York City for the last 6 years. I came back to Indy for Christmas with two loafs of bread waiting for me from my mom. I’m an avid cyclist, and my mom knows I love carbs, bread and staying healthy, which don’t always go together. I was excited to try but I was a bit skeptical because I’ve had plenty of homemade bread before and NYC is home to the most famous bread in the country. When I tried the freshly baked Basic Whole Grain with Eisele’s Raw Honey bread, my eyes lit up. All the pride and snobbery I had for New York bread went out the window. Andy has really cracked the code to bread-making. It wasn’t only the taste and texture but also the presentation, the meticulousness of the instructions, the quality of the ingredients and the feeling after eating. I felt light and energized instead of being in a carb coma. I believe that’s because of the quality organic ingredients Andy uses. Overall, it was an amazing experience from start to finish and I would stack this bread up right next to any New York bread any day of the week."

Andy's bread of Sourdough Heaven is the best I have ever had. It is a true artisan sourdough made with the very best, truly high-end whole wheat flour from very exclusive parts of the US and Canada using an outstanding starter. The crust of all his breads I tried: Garlic & herbs, Cheddar & Jalapeño, Savory Chocolate etc. was always a perfect and delectable deep dark brown, the texture so moist while perfectly cooked with ideal aerated look & consistency to it. Flavors were always spot on, so similar to the best Parisian loaf boules that I have had in Versailles & Paris region growing up all my childhood till the start of adulthood!… Highly recommended! Superb Sourdoughs!…

THIS IS A PORCH PICKUP BY PREORDER BUSINESS. (They have delivery too) It’s super easy you just place your order on their website and set the day you want to do your porch pick up at their house. Excellent quality and tasty bread! Ordered a couple of loaves to try including the Asiago, Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Rosemary as well as the 12-Grain Organic Gluten-Free for a friend. The Asiago had great flavor and amazing crust. My friend tried the gluten-free and said it was the best gluten free sourdough that she’s had locally! Andy does a great job and puts a lot of care into his loaves. Highly recommend.

All the flavors were delicious…. You sense the quality and bakery craftsmanship. My neighbors raved about it, but the chocolate cherry was off the chart. Great with a light red…delicious. I loved them all! Highly recommended.

We ordered the Cheddar Cheese with Jalapeno and Chive loaf and it traveled perfectly from Indianapolis to Houston, Texas. It was professionally packaged and arrived fresh with no spoilage whatsoever. The heating instructions were clear and produced a magnificent loaf. The loaf is a work of art and a labor of love. The artistic stencil and scoring make an attractive presentation. The crust was perfectly crispy with a soft, airy crumb. The jalapeno added a delicious pop of flavor and was a perfect accompaniment to Texas barbeque. This bread is extra special for entertaining and gift giving. We cannot say enough nice things about Sourdough Heaven! Andy’s thorough nutritional research, sourcing of high-quality ingredients, and careful attention to detail have produced a truly superior sourdough bread. We look forward to trying them all!

I got the Sourdough Cheddar Cheese with Jalapeños and Chives loaf. By following the very clear and simple baking instructions, my bread came out perfect! This bread has a wonderful crunchy crust, much like French bread, and is soft, moist, and hearty on the inside. The Jalapeño flavor is great, and it provides a little heat with a delicious tangy Jalapeño flavor. There is just the right amount of cheddar cheese in it, and the chives complement the Jalapeño and cheddar very nicely. The bread is very satisfying and one could make a meal out if it! I really love this bread, and I look forward to getting another loaf, and trying other Sourdough Heaven varieties. Two thumbs up!

We tried the cheddar cheese with jalapeno and chives and the gluten free. Both were amazing due to the taste, crisp crust, and soft interior. Loved the cheese and jalapeno combination. The gluten free bread was the best we have had and you would not be able to tell that it didn't have gluten! The ordering and pick up was quick and easy. Thank you for making such tasty and healthy sourdough bread and for providing a gluten free option!

It was a bit confusing until I realized this is a home-based bakery. The baker, Andy was so kind and welcoming. He explained that he takes orders online with pickup in the afternoons after 2:00. I ordered a San Francisco sourdough. When I picked it up, Andy explained that it was frozen and partially baked. When I got home, I followed the instruction pamphlet and finished baking at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. My house smelled amazing. It was soooo difficult not to rip into the bread but Andy warned it was not finished baking until it was room temp. Finally, it was time to try with some tea. Oh wow! It was so delicious! If you expect a walk into a bakery business in a strip mall, this is not the baker for you. If you are looking for the most delicious bread from a home-based bread magician, go for it! Now that I am aware, it will be easier next time.

Amazing quality and taste. You can tell that they truly honor the artisan process of bread making. Also great that whole grain flours are used as I don’t handle refined grains well. The texture of the crust was like French bread but the inside was soft and hearty. You really get what you pay for and the bread stayed moist for days. Will be giving these as gifts in the future. So good!

Mr. Andy, I had the opportunity of tasting your lovely Cheddar Cheese with Tuscan Herbs Bread. When Gary Lear placed this delectable piece of food art in my hands. I knew it was going to be delicious. I could smell the herbs. I could not wait to bake it. I had it with some Red Wine, Pesto Pasta cherry tomatoes grilled zucchini and a little parmesan. I wish I had this famous Chocolate Sourdough with Chocolate Chips and Organic Cherrie Bread. I see I can order this. I plan on doing so. I thank Gary for introducing your nice warm comforting bread.

This bread is top notch, unlike any other bread I've tried! I highly recommend the Asiago with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Rosemary loaf or the Garlic and Herb loaf. Delicious, and freezes well!

Andy, we just wanted to thank you for the delightful bread. You have a real talent with making bread. The multigrain loaf was just wonderful – and beautiful too. The shape and color of the loaf gathered many compliments from its location on the Thanksgiving table! Most multigrain loafs from the store end up being either very heavy and tough, or they break apart right out of the package. But the consistency and density of yours was perfect, hearty yet tender and not ‘chewy’ or hard. The flavor was rich but not overbearing. You know you are eating something healthy, not wonder bread.

We had the Asiago with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Rosemary loaf of bread and it was amazing in every way! The flavors were perfectly balanced so that you could eat the bread on its own and enjoy every bite. However, my favorite was having this with soup. I'm a dipper and this was the absolute BEST addition to a soup lunch, taking the taste to another level. The bread would make for perfect bread bowls because it soaked in the soup without becoming soggy or losing its own distinct flavors. In my opinion, the Asiago with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Rosemary is a must try for all bread lovers!
